posted by Mama Hope | April 9th, 2008 in Baby Del

Little Del is now almost four months old, and though we’ve been noting his milestones in his baby book, I thought it was well neigh time we got them documented for our loved ones and the world alike to appreciate. So here they are, in all their glory and illustrative-ness!

Week 1 Milestones

Newborn Baby Del Birth! Baby Del was born at home on Friday, December 21st, 2007 at 7 pounds 14 ounces and 20-1/2 inches.

His estimated due date was December 11th, 2007 and he had one day of practice labor on December 14th. Labor signs began day before his birthday on December 20th at approximately 2:00 pm, making his labor about 16 hours total, with about 7 hours of earnest hard work. With no eye ointment given he was able to look around the room with his eyes open right away!

Baby Del Early SmileFirst Smiles: Baby Del made his first smiles this week. Although some say these are just “gas smiles,” we think Baby Del was showing signs of personal contentment, even if he wasn’t smiling directly to us.

This week, he was also noticeably comforted to sleep by his mother or his grandmother’s singing. What a nice way to fall asleep!
